Pablo del Águila (Granada 1946-1968) was a poet who did not publish anything during his short life; however, he left an indelible mark among fellow poets in Granada. The engaged side of his poetry production was influenced by Félix Grande's work from 1967, both from a thematic and a stylistic point of view. In Del Águila's poems one can find traces of neo-avantgarde tendencies popular at the time, e.g. learned quotations alongside references to pop culture, as well as a definite protest that addresses social issues of the contemporary world. At the same time, a noticeable development in the lyric subject deployed by the author takes place: as a matter of fact, the lyric I becomes less and less naïve, and at one point is replaced by the objective correlative in order to create an emotional distance. His poetic innovations (everyday life as poetic matter, irony, social protest) will be taken up by the next generation of Granada poets (La otra sentimentalidad), in particular by Javier Egea.
