                            [a] => The aim of this study is to present a brief sample of agricultural Leonese lexis used in the region of the province of León between La Cepeda and Ribera del Órbigo. The study comprises two distinct complementary parts. In the first an ad hoc narrative has been fictionalised, into which, within their context of use, the words of Leonese speech have been inserted in order to highlight and explain them. This fictional narrative follows a chronological order which begins not with the official start of the year but rather with the cycles of harvesting. In this narrative section the one hundred and seventy words or expressions which may require clarification are explained in the notes. The second section of the paper comprises an alphabetical index of the terms with dialectal nuance which are included in the narrative text and / or explained in the notes.
