In Puñal de claveles Carmen de Burgos creates a dramatic and poetic vision based on reality, as does Lorca in Bodas de Sangre. The literature both authors conceive draws on real life. Using narrative and the theatre, respectively, they make poetry based on the same event. They use literary symbols from nature and at the same time highlight a psychological problem which envelops the characters: frustration. In Puñal de claveles this is overcome while in Bodas de Sangre it remains an inherent part of the characters, who at the same time are wrapped in their vision of nature, using parallels and contrasts, which leads us to the discovery of a certain projection and influence of Carmen de Burgos' short novel on the tragedy by Lorca.
