In April 2018 Editorial Laria of Oviedo published the first Asturian language version of La Celestina, by the prolific translator Pablo Suárez García (Udrión, Asturias, 1973). He is also the author of translations of classic works such as The Decameron, Tirant lo Blanc, Don Quixote or Lazarillo de Tormes. The purpose of this article is twofold: first, to provide the list of the Asturian equivalents of the 444 sayings compiled by José Gella Iturriaga (1977), which constitutes the most extensive corpus of proverbs from La Celestina so far; and, further, to present an overview of the various translation strategies that arise when facing the translation of proverbs and phraseological units. Thanks to the contribution of the translator, Pablo Suárez García, we have been able to analyze with greater precision the inner workings of the recent Asturian version
