    Recognizing, as the critics do, the classic character of the twenty-seven sonnets of El rayo que no cesa requires important nuances. The sonnets of Miguel Hernández are undoubtedly sons of their time and the features that can recall some Spanish Baroque resources have been passed through the sieve of a creator who is a very conscious poet. The result, as observed in the analysis of some of them and as can be seen from the comparison of a genuinely baroque sonnet, points to a reworking of these resources, mostly rhetorical, to create a contemporary work
