This article, which stems from a research on the subject of noncontractual civil liability from a terminological and terminographical point of view, analyses several cases of terms that without being full synonyms to each other, get to the point of getting mixed and finally end up designating, without distinction, one sole notion, a sort of extension of the notion of synonymy. This paper aims to dismantle the mechanism of these cases of improper synonymy, firstly by accusing and proving their presence and the examples which betray it, and ultimately by indicating the rules that will help make the most accurate semantic distinction of their components.
