The article discusses the results of national and international systemic assessments applied to Mexican students of elemental, middle and high school in language skills, as well as the national assessment that candidates undergo in order to be granted a position as basic and middle school teachers; it also reports the vicissitudes of teaching in the upper midrange, not subject to regular evaluation. The last segment reviews the opinions of Mexicans to the Mexican national survey habits, of cultural practices and cultural consumption, promoted by the National Council for Culture and Arts, and also the survey on the public perception of Mexicans in science and technology, designed and applied by the National Council for Science and Technology and the National Institute of Statistics and Geography, as a link for the noticeable limitations of students and mentors with the Mexican sociocultural environment.
