In recent years there have been several studies, from different disciplines, which have examined the reading process as a social and cultural phenomenon. However, in the Spanish educational field, the literacy studies have not shown a strong ethnographic tradition. The purpose of this article is to provide some methodological tools for the analysis of practices and representations of reading at school through a case study.
